Roiro-nuri
A Japanese lacquering technique in which uneven surfaces of wood-based material are primed and polished, followed by multiple layers of urushi, a raw varnish to create a thick, glassy film. Each layer is dried completely before the next coat of lacquer is applied. This slow art of applying layer upon layer of rich lacquer creates a surface like no other. SENSAI reinterprets this exquisite craft to achieve the coveted lacquer shine in a single glide.
